Evidence before recommendation

How Solar Plug Scout researches claims

A claim is only as useful as its scope, source, checking date and limitations.

Published Reviewed

Source hierarchy

  1. Legislation, GOV.UK and DESNZ publications.
  2. ENA network documents and live device registers.
  3. Ofgem, MCS, Energy Saving Trust and applicable electrical guidance.
  4. Manufacturer documentation for product claims.
  5. Retailers for dated availability and price only.
  6. Reputable secondary analysis for context, never as the sole basis of a material regulatory or safety claim.

Changing facts

Rules, device records, prices, stock and supplier SEG policies can change. Each material record needs a checking date. A stale record is not represented as current. Device counts, battery-route boundaries and SEG qualification receive an explicit live check before publication.

What the site does not claim

No product has been ranked, priced, field-tested or described as currently available. No personal savings, payback or SEG result is generated.
